Enhancing Rural Areas: Success of the Conference in Celico

December 31, 2024 – The town of Celico hosted the conference titled “Enhancing Rural Areas Through Local Typical Products: Innovation, Sustainability, and Authenticity” as part of the gastronomic event “Nel Gusto.”

The initiative, organized by the Cylikon Cultural Association in collaboration with the municipal administration of Celico and the GAL Sila, focused on showcasing Calabria’s excellent agri-food products, highlighting their cultural, economic, and identity value.

Key topics discussed during the conference included:

  • Technological innovation in the agri-food sector;

  • Environmental sustainability to safeguard rural areas;

  • Authenticity of local products as a distinctive feature of Calabria.

The event welcomed experts, institutional representatives, and prominent figures such as Fulvia Michela Caligiuri and Gianluca Gallo, who emphasized the importance of supporting local producers to promote rural development and gastronomic tourism.

“Nel Gusto,” promoted by ARSAC (Regional Agency for the Development of Agriculture in Calabria) and GAL Sila, has established itself as an excellent showcase for Calabria’s agri-food heritage, demonstrating how the integration of tradition and innovation can be the key to enhancing the territory.
